Design 29: creating a capital - National Archives

by Macquarie Educational Tours Exhibitions Canberra

As part of the Canberra Centenary celebrations, the National Archives has put together a new Exhibition ‘Design 29: creating a capital’, which is now showing at the archives in Canberra.
This exhibition offers a once in a century opportunity for students to view up close the original designs of the 1911 Federal Capital City Design Competition finalists. On display are the internationally acclaimed designs by Walter Burley and Marion Mahony Griffin, as well as plans by Eliel Saarinen, Donat-Alfred Agache and the Australians Griffiths, Coulter and Caswell.

The Exhibition is open now until the 8th of September 2013.
