Why Cairns & the Daintree

From your accommodation base in Cairns, visit Mossman Gorge and learn about the rainforest environment and Aboriginal culture with your local Indigenous guide, tour a sugarcane farm to learn about this industry, take the Kuranda Skyrail above the rainforest canopy stopping at rainforest ‘stations’ along the way to learn about this ecosystem and explore the quaint township of Kuranda.

Tour a coffee plantation, see a giant curtain fig tree, and visit a crocodile zoo to learn about these incredible creatures.

Cross the Daintree River to explore the Daintree Rainforest for the day or stay overnight immersing yourself in this World Heritage Listed natural wonder.

At Cape Tribulation you can witness two World Heritage Listed areas meet as the tide rises and the Great Barrier Reef meets the Daintree Rainforest. Cape Tribulation is so close to the reef that it makes a great jump-off point for a snorkelling tour.

Explore boardwalks through the rainforest or small groups may take a zipline tour; perhaps see a cassowary or taste tropical fruits; explore the Daintree Discovery Centre.

Contact us today to organise a Far North Queensland ‘reef and rainforest’ excursion for your senior high school students.
