The Original Gold Rush Colony (previously known as Old Mogo Town) is an authentically recreated, Australian 1850s Gold Rush era village. The gold rush theme park takes you back in time to an era before iPhones and iPads enabling you to discover life as it was for our pioneers on the goldfields. Within the grounds of the Gold Rush Colony you can step back in time and experience life as it was in the 1850s Australian Gold Rush days; pan for real gold and enjoy a unique heritage experience.

The Original Gold Rush Colony specialises in preserving and promoting Australian History, both of the Australian Aboriginal traditional heritage and culture and of the new Australians who have immigrated to Australia over the years. Memorabilia, buildings, artefacts and stories of the early Australian Gold Rush days of the 1850s are preserved with loving care and attention to detail, both physically and in oral presentation and tradition. Educational programs run on site to provide students with an invaluable insight and understanding of the impact the gold rush had on Australian history.
