In the early-1980s, Greg transitioned from a diesel mechanic to a long-distance tour coach driver, embarking on journeys across every Australian state and territory. After marrying Heidi, Greg stayed closer to home and focused on studying business management and accountancy. This would help in running a successful mechanical business whilst maintaining a connection to coach tours by organising ski trips for friends and as fundraisers.

Greg and Heidi have imparted their industry knowledge to their expanding team, taking on business partners Julie and Dallas and creating systems that ensure Macquarie Educational Tours delivers well-researched, organised, outcome-focused excursions led by friendly coach drivers.
